I have a couple machines that i’d bought new 1inch coils for, One machine sits flush and another is the fat bastard 1/2 armature bar and 8 wrap coils. But for some reason the armature bar doesn’t sit flush with the 1st coil. I’ve used other Shims, made sure the main spring is straight and flush. I can load pictures if necessary. It really looks like the coils tops are not completely flat. Im not a retard and have common sense.

How would this effect the machine? :geek:

What’s the best way to make sure the coils are level? :?:

Does filling the top of the coil core F’ shit up? :!:

Get you an emery board for finger nails or some kind of file to shave that thing down a bit. Sometimes either the coils are off a bit or the geometry is slightly off on your machine. Thats what it sounds like to me. I had that same problem when i replaced my coils on one of my sh-adders. As long as you make sure that the front coil is higher than the back or both are flush when you press the armature bar down it will not stop it from working fine and will eventually where itself down.

Yeah it’s pretty common to get coils that don’t have perfectly flat tops. A good metal file works good to flatten them out. Go slowish though. Don’t want to take too much off. And yeah sometimes frames can even warp a bit over time. You could check the saddle to make sure it’s straight. That can make a huge difference to how your machine runs.
