Capacitor and voltage

by admin on Mar.30, 2009, under Ch 04 - Power Supply

To compensate for a higher rated capacitor you might
have to add voltage to your machine to get the same
effect. Try changing out your rear spring in conjunction
with changing the cap, you have to remember
that there are a lot of variables involved with tuning a
machine and when you change one thing you are affecting
all other components involved. A good way to
tell that your cap is not rated high enough is that the
machine will quit on you when you apply resistance
(try to bog it down). Keep an eye on the spark that is
flying on the contact point tip when you bog your machine,
this is a good indicator of your cap’s ability.
