Yes and no, depending on who you buy from. Most places buy their needles premade from china, and have their name printed on the box. They all charge different prices, but realistically your getting the same thing. Some places like national tattoo supply, unimax and tatsoul spearman (my favorite) make their own, and there is a difference in performance vs. Crappy needles. They do cost more, but not much and in my opinion are worth it.

i recommend getting needles by tatsoul or kingpin
they work great and if you can use a magnify loop 10x and see the actual needle itself
some are cuvred and not a real point which can cause alot of problems to your work and skin.
plus ive seen some china made ones arent even sterile.. some packages are slightly open and what not.

Doesnt tatsoul require you at least be an apprentice now? I tried the Envy needles, they were OK. I think they helped with putting the ink in a little better, not by much. But my clients often complained that they supposedly hurt a bit more and wanted me to go back to my other needles. (Some of my clients are wimps I guess)
