hey, my name is alejandro bautista from Greenville Texas. i am 21 years old and i am an apprentice at Texas Tattoos and art gallery.

ever since i was a kid i was always drawing and wanted to become an artist when i grew up. all through school i told my self that was was gonna go to art school and become a bad ass. as i got older i realized that that dream was gonna have to come to an end and work a shitty job. one of my buddies shared a dream similar to mine, he became a tattoo artist and eventually convinced me to try out tattoos. the shop owner gave me a shot and ever since then im learning so much about the art of tattooing and the history.

I have a similar story in my art life. I put a lot of money and time into an art school just to learn I’d go nowhere with the degree I wanted to obtain. I have attempted a thousand jobs, business ideas, etc to try and “replace” the need to have art as my job. I couldn’t find anything that satisfied until I realized that tattoo was the closest to my dream as possible. I yet to find an apprenticeship – but I have a goal and I’m already much happier than ever.

Welcome to this forum, its a great place. It will be wonderful to see your art !!

      Same story here mate.

I have been a struggling artist, almost 10 years. Showing my work to every art gallery in country. Only to be let down every single time. As there is a norm of such, art galleries wanted.
And if I did what they wanted, I would lose who I was in my art, and become every body else, doing the same shitty owl and child like paintings (That’s what’s IN, in my country)
I have attended a ton of art classes, none of them thought me anything useful.
Gone through five different educations, none of them made my life complete. Until I found the world of tattoo.
Now still have a shitty government job, and just waiting for the moment to say…. Goodbye.

Welcome to the forum :D Cant wait to see your stuff.
