ParticipantHere is a link to the American Red Cross Blood borne pathogens certification website. This is done online, and the cost is $25 USD plus tax. It’s cheap, it doesn’t take long, and you can print your certificate when you are finished. In my opinion, this is the most important step to take before searching for an apprenticeship. You can also find links on the website to find CPR/AED & First Aid training sessions in your area. http://www.redcross.org/take-a-class/course-dowbt000000000001063

ParticipantIf you plan on having your BBP cert make sure that whatever “class” you take is accepted in your area. Some places will not accept just any BBP cert. I had one before that was OSHA and HIPAA certified and the health department here told me it was a no go because they didn’t recognize the company on thier “official” list. So I had to go back and take one of their approved BBP certs at one of their approved places. Not much of a hassle and sll, it just ended up I had to pay twice for my cert within 6 months

ParticipantFor Canada, various provinces have their own certification but not all of them. I did the one from this site. http://www.tdgwhmis.ca/store/catalog.php?category=1

ParticipantNice post. I go in person classes here (through work) and online. No need really, but part of my OCD I suppose.
