Flats

I seem to have trouble when using mags. Seems like all the needles are not hitting. I use RS to do color and get a full packed color. But havent been able to do that with mags. However using a 6flat I have colored using slow tight circle and it seems to look better then even the round shader. Are the flats often used for color?

flats were used before mags were really popular. When I started tattooing no one used mags.. now there are stacked and woven. flats are okay – depends on how low they are soldered. That will give you nice painterly effect. Mags should pack color better though. due to surface area coverage.
