so after looking at cjmahones stained pages and seeing others do it i wanted to try it out. i didnt use coke but i used a tea bag with very little water then microwaved it for about a minute. this flash isnt anything special just a test to see how it would come out. what do you guys think?

Not to be rude, that drawing has alot to be desired. If I were you I would concentrate more on drawing better flash than on staining the paper with soft drinks.

if you want the gradients to be smoother, try wetting the paper first with water, then using whatever stain you want (weather it’s tea or coke, whatever).
when you pre-wet (moisten) the surface, your color will blend much smoother.
