I have been at this a while and have learned a lot thru trial and error. I have yet to use a rotary shader and was wondering if anyone actively uses one (which one?) and how they find using it. I do use a rotary liner and love the line consistentcy but i find the vibration is intense around 9v when lining tougher skin. My other question is; what is the effect difference between FLT shaders and CURVED mags. I have gotten away and pretty efficient with the weaved magnum. Just wondering if a fanned out flat would soften the shading a hair more without dilution and overworking.

Flats are mostly used for larger colour jobs. however, a Stacked, or Weaved mag can do anything a flat can do. Also with a weaved mag you have a less change of damaging the skin. you really have to kno whow to use a flat to use it properly otherwise you have high risk at damaging the skin. Even weaved, and stacked mags still have that chance, but it’s not as high. thats where curved mags come in. the shape of the curved mag rubs the skin in such a way that it drastically reduces the change that it can can, snag, or rip the skin.
