MemberNot sure if there’s going to be any background work done here, so consider it a completed piece. Apple blossoms were stenciled, vines were drawn freehand with a Sharpie then tattooed.

Just a suggestion…

make it more interesting as well as variation in outline depth / widthI agree, fairly solid outline, litte gradiation in the flowers, but the vine is just so packed bright green. It could use some shaded depth and perhaps even some white highlights here and there. Solid work though.

ParticipantSome shading and some highlights would have set this off.

ParticipantI would have liked to have seen some shadowing of the vine that would have been nice… And sometimes you don’t have to pack so much color into a piece. It is solid and has great line work!!

Memberi agree with the shading vs color packing, i suffer sometimes too but im learning… the shadow along the vine probably could help it out a little bit, or maybe a complimenting diff color of green on the vine? or a yellow?

Participantlooks good bro
outline is pretty solid
blossoms lookin good :)
what you should try next time is make a grey wash either premade in bottles or in your ink cups
use a medium to soft grey shading, and colour OVER TOP of the shade
this is called top shading
you will see the black through the pigment of the green and it will give the effect of having a green gradation without having to actually use different greens or mix colours :)
