Too late?

Well I have been an artist my whole life, Drawing, painting, sculpting. I love it all. Always wanted to get into the art of tattooing, But you know bad life choices wrong paths. And next thing I know 37 years old , felt like it was too late. Bought some gear and did a bag of grapefruit, and about 8 on myself. Watched the best videos I could find, online. would love to do this as a career, but getting old and a family to support. The shops here want money to give you an apprenticeship. I got a good paying job now, Its just a crappy job. So any tips, good or bad I would love to hear them, everybody seems pretty cool,and helpful on here so thanks in advance.
