      Hi !
I have to tattoo a compass. The fact is that the background is dark and numbers and graduations are white.
So can I do lines and caracters in white ink after blacks ? On fresh blacks ?
Really sorry for my bad english !
      Thank you

Technically you can, but it wont be white in the end. It will be grey as you will see the black in through the white ink. There was actually an episode of LA Ink where a guy had a true sleeve: his arm was completely black. He then began to get white tattoos overtop.

Did you mean gradiations? And yeah you’d be lucky for it to even be grey. It would be so dark once it heals you’d barely see it. It’s pointless. Ramen touched on this but tattoo pigments are translucent so the darkest color will always show through.

Thanks to you I’ll do it in greywash with black gradiations. That’s wiser…
