Never have liked to use stacked mags. After discovering flats they are all I use for solid work and shading. They just seem to fill in faster. Is their anything wrong with that. I’m not tearing anyone up. Should I give stacked mags a try again? If so why?

Woven are not the same as stacked. A woven mag is just like using a flat but the 2 rows will help the color go in faster. Stacked mags are just what they say they are, the needles are stacked on top of each other so the skin takes more punishment per pass. I like to use woven as you get to go over the area more often getting a much more solid fill, also I use textured, woven mags they put the ink in very fast in my experience.

Thanks for the info. There seems to be no consistancy in names when dealing with the companies. I usually buy from monster steel but they dont list woven. Maybe they call them just mags. Thanks.

That’s a UK shop I think the US version is Worldwide Tattoo?
Or the tattoo shop also sell on ebay I believe.http://www.killerinktattoo.co.uk/tattoo-needles/precision/magnum-weaved/
Also a UK company I’m afraid, not sure if they sell overseas. Some people will make their own by weaving a razorblade between the needles of a flat and giving it a little push to force the needles out (or resolder), this is ok BUT: 1 you can damage the tips of the needles and, 2 you will have just contaminated the needles and will need to autoclave them.
I realise most people won’t have autoclaves but I added that method just so people have that info for people to put in their little black books for future reference :)
