im still using my machines i got from a kit and i love them to bits ive also just ordered a Damascus steel machine off ebay for £50
of course i did take the coils, A bar, springs and contact point off then add a yolk for one of them but the frames and capacitors are normally good :)

sounds like the machine isnt set up right have you taken it apart and made sure no exposed wires are touching the frame an such

as a personal preference i try to keep my machines running at about 6.5 – 9

im a big fan of my Damascus steel frame but mainly for the design of the frame and how comfortable it sits on my hand

im not a huge fan of brass it isnt the best conductive metal for a frame out there

wow thats great thanks loads :)

the parts i started to order where the ones you named as well i only got a small set of springs to start off with but when i get money i plan on buying more from there, i got the spare parts kit as well and some 8 an 10 wrap coils

on my search for new parts i thought id check out some machines and i came across some glyn flew machines (i think thats the make) apparently i have one of his designed machines the sniper. i was wondering if you could tell me anything about his machines and if hes still in the business (i heard a rumor he no longer makes machines) the main machine i was curios of is the weaver it looks like it has three coils i was wondering the effect this would have and how it would work

thank you so much and your book has been a great help

hey when i was still in an apprenticeship one of the artist there would completely free hand the whole dragon he started with a ruff shape with a light colour marker like yellow then used darker shades and colours to add detail

another artist at would draw out the head and arms, make a stencil of them, place the head on the body then free hand the body and final add the arms an legs changing them if it needed it
