In my experience people who pay the least are the most difficult, also the most demanding.

BeginnersLuck replied to the topic What is the best way to get tattoo ink out of the carpet? in the forum 101 Stupid Mistakes 11 years, 3 months ago
Also, I tattoo my husband at home, not customers. I’m inbetween shops right now, I don’t bring people into my kitchen to tattoo them.

I don’t tattoo on the carpet, I do it in the kitchen where there is tile, and I always sterilize the floor before I tattoo. I was walking and shaking the bottle, and it sprayed into the next room. Thanks, I’ll try the baking soda and vinegar

I believe there need to be regulations, but the guidelines need to be set by the professionals in the business who know what the hell needs to happen. All the laws are made by stuffy rich arseholes who have probably never even been in a tattoo studio.

BeginnersLuck replied to the topic disposable tubes? in the forum General Questions About Tattooing Safe 11 years, 4 months ago
I’m a fan of disposable tubes, easy care, already sterilized, and my customers seem really pleased and comforted knowing the needle AND tube have never been used before. I worked in a shop that only used autoclave, no ultrasonic, and while I know that I cleaned the tubes properly, I could tell the other artists were not. I did not work there for long.

Thanks guys, I’ll definitely get some pics up! I thought it was the contact points initially, and I have fussed with it so much it feels unreal. I’ll clean the point and springs(it probably needs it), but I’m not sure how someone could mess that up intentionally. Unfortunately someone witnessed my shader being fucked with. Im wondering could he…[Read more]

BeginnersLuck replied to the topic Thin Brightest ink + thoughts on Eternal vs Fusion in the forum Pigment vs. Ink 11 years, 4 months ago
Intenze ink is great, I always get compliments on the colors I use. Find a master tattoo artist and find out what they use. Mario barth is pretty amazing and he uses intenze. Also, there is not a lot of regulations on what or how ink is made, so pick a reputable company. There have been people who have died due to bad ink, so take your ink seriously

BeginnersLuck replied to the topic ok if this gets me kicked out so be it. in the forum Pigment vs. Ink 11 years, 4 months ago
Don’t be afraid to highlight with whites. The best I can give is contrast. Light shows up on dark, dark on light, and remember if they have a medium dark skin, don’t use medium dark ink. Also, if you have an apprenticeship your artist can help you before you have a panic attack

BeginnersLuck replied to the topic Help getting started in the forum Apprentice Folly 11 years, 4 months ago
A lot of people say get an apprenticeship, but I think its more accurate to say earn your apprenticeship. Make a portfolio, its the basic to being taken seriously. Show initiative by going and getting certified in blood born pathogens and cpr. Unless you’re in a state that doesn’t have any tattooing laws, you’re going to need them anyway. It will…[Read more]

Something about tattoos attracts assholes. Not all of em are, but its built up a reputation we all have to prove or prove wrong. Kind of pisses me off.
