That does make sense what you are doing with your legs, seeing as you have a plan for them. I unfortunately dont have a plan as yet for my legs so I am just being careful as to what I put where on my body. I have tattooed myself a few times so far, and have done plenty on friends and family. I just personally waited a little bit until I had a bit…[Read more]

I’m going to say the reverse. Don’t practice on anything other than Human skin. You’re not going to be tattooing rubber mats or fruit, so why waste the time developing techniques and ‘a feel’ for applying them to mediums which feel totally different to Human skin… Practice skin is the skin between your knee and hip… The…

haha. sorry to be keeping you up mate, its only 1000 in the morning here.
What is the uF rating on the cap? The 6.5v is basically the maximum rating the capacitor should be used at so I would be very careful using it at 10V like you where saying, it may blow the cap.

oh ok. I get you now. well there are a few ways you can slow down your machine… higher rated capacitor will work but will also make it hit harder, softer front springs will also slow it down, or you can increase the air-gap by unscrewing the contact screw.
is this for a liner or shader set up?
Is the 6.3v the running volts you use?

Its much easier if you load it onto a photobucket type of website and then post the link to the photo on here.
Looks pretty shakey, and not very even depth. Where abouts is this on you?
Have you read the book sold by this site? If your only just starting out I highly suggest geting it! It has great info on everything from setting your machine up…[Read more]

Cant really see it all that well because the pics on this site are so small, but looks like the line work is a bit shallow and shakey. Other than that it looks good for third one on skin. Keep it up! :D
I had the same problems when i first started stensils. I found that I wasn’t giving it enough time to dry. plus I have a recipe for a good…[Read more]

Hey mate, what machines are you running? Also, what power supply?
There is a lot that can change the amount of voltage needed. If its a cheaper machine, the coils will be made with cheaper wire and core, therefore having more resistance in them meaning the need for higher voltage. Or your air gap could be too large… Or your rear springs could…[Read more]

I’m glad to see more Military people on here as tattooist’s. Im in the Royal Australian Navy as a Medic and have been learning to tattoo (any way i can) for the past two years, but it is bloody hard to get an apprenticeship when you have a full time job where you are stuck in a contract.
