the cx-3 is really nicely built and will save voltage for 4 machines. They are about 130 bucks, but I can get them for 45 plus shipping so I know they are out there cheaper. I can direct you to someone if you want but want to avoid plugging anyone. I saw american companies selling them for up to 175. Really sturdy, much better than I expected. Mine included a footswitch(which I replaced with one of the little flat ones) mounts and sweet magnetic feet. I was impressed. It might be nicer to use knobs, but the buttons are really tough and seem like they will hold up- almost too tough. I havent tested the voltage against anything but seems right- 110-220v too, which is good for me. I wouldnt waste 400 percent more money on an eikon- although it would be nice to have something that I can have at least 2 machines plugged into at once. And I would prefer knobs.

the cream looks interesting but the whole “genetically engineered” AND peta safe thing seems a little odd… They dont really list their ingredients on the website. Ill look more. I am really thinking that raw shea butter(my mother used to sell the stuff) seems like an ideal product. The tattoo derm looks interesting too. As far as I understand, some artists suggest wrapping their tattoos for extended periods of time- scares me a bit though. It is really hard to get a little scratch here in Thailand without acquiring at least a little bit of inflammation or infection. i am going to ask some local artists about what they suggest, although things are a bit primitive here sometimes- not always a bad thing. Ill try to post what I come up with.
Where in Hawaii are you from? I lived in East Maui Keanae-Hana-Kipahulu-Kalepa, etc for a couple of years. Thinking of returning fairly soon to focus on art for a while. Life can be really good out there. -

Doesnt have so many tat style koi fish, some being faught by warriors and whatnot, but this torrent is an amazing source for inspiration if you are into japanese styled art. Dont really think you have to worry about copyrights and all with it… Lots of sweet clouds and finger waves as well as a bunch of very old caricatures and cartoonish stuff to draw from. Really amazing collection.

Jermz,
Before I tune my machines the way I want I use my fingers as a pressure point to see how hard my A-Bar is hitting or how soft.
That way I can kinda emulate the resistance by using my thumb or finger pushed up against the A-Bar while its on and adjust my power supply same time. Hope this helps. After you tune it then you can see if it remains same. I tune my machines like this because if you just turn your machine on and power it via foot pedal it may seem to flow smooth but as soon as you try and hit skin it may dwindle down so low it will not even penetrate the skin.
If you dont have Canvas’s book, I recommend it. You’ll get a lot of tips on setting up your machine. Its a thorough beginner book you might want to look into. If you have it already….just review the chapter on machine tuning.
Heard about some machines taking on magnetic energy and softening up the hit after a while of use… some guy was even saying that he takes his machines to wall mart or somewhere to put them on the demagnetizer for a few minutes at the cashier.

Also, I have a really good contact for wholesale who can get any style needles, etc. bugpins, textured. also got a nicely built power supply (called cx-3 with mounts, magnetic feet, etc.) for 45 bucks. He charged me 4 percent to use paypal but it was well worth it and he hooked me up with a bunch of freebies. Stuff was so cheap I considered re-selling on Ebay but dont have the patience. 2 bucks per box of liners, I think 18 shaders were 3.80 a box? plus shipping and customs…. whatever. If you want the contact… they scared me cause there are so many out there selling the same stuff. This guy was recommended and is legit, professional and fast.
