Damn some of you guys sound like your gonna cry while you defend your chinese junkers. Seriously buying cheaper stuff from american companies, is ok, but if your not willing to commit to your art work and buy real hand made machines, and learn to build and tune, youre no better than any other tweeker or jailhouse tattooer.

There is no such thing as good or decent chinese…anything. Pretty much everything made in china has lead contents that would not be allowed for production in the U.S. Its all about quality guys. The quality of the machines you use reflects on your work. Im not saying that if you buy a Ferrari that you will instantly be a pro racer, but would you drive the same in a kia? Tattooing is an art, not how and where to buy the cheapest stuff, and expecting quality results from that cheap stuff. Trust me it shows in your work.. Best of luck

By the way. Do yourself a favor and let the chinese keep their crap in china. There is a reason why the united states has laws about lead content on products, and china does not…. ITS CHEAP FOR A REASON, ITS NOT WORTH USING! Buy American buddy. That could be the whole root of the problem your having.

Definately check contact screw. I have a color packer i like to run super slow and light, and sometimes it doesnt really want to start running on its own. Try holding down the footswitch and move the armature bar down with your finger. If the machine starts running on its own after that, a small turn of the contact screw will do it. If other machines run on that power supply then its not the power supply. Try also cleaning the contact points from time to time, they do get carbon buildup which will aslo hinder conductivity.

Dude the nickel and dime thing is more of a baseline. You need to figure out what YOU like out of a machine. What speed in HZ do you like to run for lining, b/g , and color. Also you need to figure out if you like to have long or short throw for lining.. etc. Mainly if you arent into ripping machines apart, find a good speed you like to run, and then tweak the contact screw ever so slighty until the machine sounds right, and i bet youll feel better about it all

I have had minimal success with prizm when i first started, mostly the black inks. It was so bad that i really started to question my self as an artist. When i tattooed years ago i used moms colors and kirosumi black which worked fine. Now i use talens and bloodline. The use of good ink will boost your confidence and let you venture into the designs that you may not have wanted to attempt in the past.

Eternal for the most part is really good, but it has a few colors that arent that great, but that is the story with any brand. I have been using bloodline, and i really like it. Its easy to work with, and cleans up so easy. For lining you just cannot beat talens.

Thats friggin sweet! Its a real pain to work with that practice skin, so if you move to live canvas, its alot easier to work with, and alot easier to overwork. Just saying to be careful because that practice skin will make habits that arent always good ones

Try shading like a b&g and then color like normal, it will add tons of depth without having to mess with tons of different colors

Wrecking balm sucks man. I used it faithfully for 4 months with absolutely no results,except for fond memories of torturing myself every few days and hoping for results.

Switch to talens. That prism black is no good. If your having to make more than one pass, up your voltage a little at a time, half volt incriments until your lines are smooth. Typically 7rl makes it easier to make clean lines than a 5. Always make sure you are consistent
