@Viper- Yes. If I could find somewhere that will pay for everything, and they’re an amazing artist, I would totally do that. The owner (Ben) says that I need like, $5,000 to apprentice to pay for EVERYTHING I use.
After coming over to this site and reading up on a couple of things, I asked Ben if he’d make me clean toliets and everything. He said yes, but because I would need to learn to have EVERYTHING clean. He’s been in a couple shops where their stations were clean but the rest of the shop was filth. He told me that one of the shops he worked in, in the town we grew up in, that the walls might have had a smoke residue at the end of the night, but he still cleaned them everyday. I understand that he wants to make sure that his shop is clean and as steril as possible, and I hope (because I’ve only gone to hang out at the shop a couple of times) that he doesn’t just have the apprentices do all of the bitch work.
See, when I went up to the shop to ask about joining his team (I thought I’d be smart and use networking first), I was just trying to get my foot in the door by being a shop girl. I understand doing grunt work, making sure that their stations were clean before and after use, general housekeeping, and pretty much errand runs for the shop (I’m not a personal assistant and am not going to pick up dry cleaning). Since they are co-owners of the shop, I was told to come back the next week so that way the two guys could talk about it. I did, and that’s when I was told that as far as shop team, they didn’t need anyone, that they already had two people and one of them was an apprentice (I believe there are only 3 artists in the shop, I only think that because 9 times out of 10 I only see the two owners). That’s when Ben told me, as far as apprenticing that it’s cost and everything that I’d need to get done.
@Kitchen-Yeah, I’m excited about it. Because the husband-to-be and I are gamers, we’re doing a Kingdom Hearts themed wedding. I’m having more fun planning this than I probably should. xD We aren’t making it to where people could dress up (because most of the attendies are family that don’t play games), but everything else is decorated to that theme.
