My guess is that your springs / coils are not hitting hard enough – or your power supply is not strong enough.
In my opinion – when you first start out – better to make tattoos that are too light – than to make them scab and hamburger meat

Try not to squeeze so tight – use 1″ grips when you tattoo.. get rubber grips –
relax!

Welcome. Be sure to use disposable stuff – and pickup a copy of Basic Fundamentals of Modern Tattoo.

Do you have Basic Fundamentals of Modern Tattoo (Book)?
You should practice on pig skin and then tattoo yourself (ie: your legs).
Don’t tattoo clients until you can “get the mag to stick”.
You will end up chewing up / scaring someone!

I would use a woven mag not stacked if you plan to outline…
But just outline w/ a round tight is you are still apprentice.

Looks cool –
do all the color and shading before you start the tattoo.
ALWAYS get a good solid COMPLETE reference piece before you begin the tattoo!

Usually you do NOT want to line w/ a 1 liner. Its too small. Start w/ a 5 tight or 7 tight while learning.
You can also line w/ a mag but need practice.
Stay away from single needle lining – you will do more damage than good.

Tell your clients to clean around the tattoo w/ Q-tip and alcohol. Its probably from the aftercare product. Use less. When you shave area – then clog pores w/ A&D or vasaline the tattoo area might get acne. It goes away. Might also be minor allergic reaction to pigments w/ red base.

Depends. haha – I know that’s not what you want to hear..but…
You really can do whatever you want. Typically 30-45 degrees is okay – but depends. Sometimes 0 degrees works for lining a tattoo.. You just have to practice…
Get good machines and good coils good power supply… and make sure machine is i tune!

Start off not spending more than $150 per machine. As you get better as an artist you can invest more. $150 will usually get you something decent (not to shitty, not to pricey).
The machine does not always make you a better tattoo artist. FYI

You can – sometimes I like to line w/ RS – they are a bit more loose – you will probably have wider lines – depends on what you are trying to achieve. You can line or shade w/ any needles / tubes.
