Always wanted to learn the art of Tattooing, but you know, bad life choices and next thing you know your 40…lol, Bought some stuff all disposable plastic tubes and grips, needles nothing from china, lol. Watched a few youtube videos, and away I went. Any tips good or bad please leave em.

I like it m8 keep it up not a lot of people could do what u have done there with only two months experience. I take my hat off to u. Now you have started you wont be able to stop it gets addictive. A word of warning tho. Do one good tatoo and you will be lucky if the person tells 6 people do one bad tattoo and they will tell 100 people. just the way it is with these things

I have a rotary kit from hildbrandt and as someone mentioned earlier there is no settting up just plug and play. I really like my rotary kit the only problem i have sometimes is needel stabalization someome recomended needel runner so i will look into this. I am also going to get a coil machine just so I can be familiar with both I also heard you can get some that run on compressed air, now I would like to see how that would perform

start learning shading, and using different pencils. this will transfer over to tattooing and grey washes.

check out these books. especially drawing from the right side of the brain

ok. well not one person expects picasso, or rembrandt. however, you need to work on your drawing more. I am sure you see that, but don’t make excuses for yourself like if you expect this then go look at this. your drawings have a raw skill set that can get better. focus, study, and become a better artist. look at ways to add more depth to your drawings. study shading. make that fucker pop. that is so important to set yourself apart from an average artist. if you understand it on paper you understand it on skin. the better way to approach this would have been to ask what can i do to get better with my drawing. people on this forum like to help others, and like to see success. take advice, and learn from it. the if you don’t like it fuck you attitude won’t work in this industry. if i took your statement wrong i am sorry, but that is how it sounds. hope i can be of help to you. have a great day

no m8 not at all. Thats not what I ment. I really thought my drawings were going to get slated. cos I know I can do better I just get so frustrated I know what I want and sometimes I cant get it to happen on paper. This worries me as on skin mistakes wont be so forgiving as you cant rub them out u can try cover them but not erase them. I have said I will only tattoo myself untill I am 100% that I can make a decent job of it. And thanks I will deffo keep trying to better my artwork who knows I might just drop something that is really good in six months or so.

By single stack – do you mean woven?

You sir should not be tattooing if you need to ask questions like these in a public forum. Go do a real apprenticeship and you wont need to ask!

you sir should not be in here. we would all like an apprenticeship but its just not that straight forward. I say keep it clean and as safe as possible. Do you work from a shop and do you have an apprenticeship? do you even tattoo or do you just give your opinion on posts to piss people off. I come here to get away from comments like that.
