• since i posted that pic, recently got new needles (7rl) and did a few touch up areas and colored some in. 2 nights ago i added my 11th self tat, today somehow got it snagged and ripped one of the lines and ripped the ink right out, needless to say, it hurt worse than tatting it. all the chattin on this post is perfectly fine with me, lets us know…[Read more]

  • i’ve tried the whole slow tatting stuff. that’s what it looked like after a second pass. and honestly, i’m not very good at measurements, iv’e set it to 1/16th but i don’t know how to compare that to, so i’m not certain, like the thickness of a dime or what. And i’ll try the 45degree angle next time. and also held it like you mentioned, with the…[Read more]

  • been awhile since i’ve been on. It’s been sometime since i did this tattoo. looks hagard as all b.s. I must admit, when i did this, it wasn’t at my usual work station. Her kids were running around, kicking my stuff everywhere, and not being able it adjust properly, it turned out like this. I used a 7rl for the whole thing, and she was amazed it…[Read more]

thanks rob. couldn’t help but notice you joined this site on my b-day. to nyte: thanks fer explaining that to me. i have a bad habit of getting ahead of myself at times.

    that’s pretty impressive.

  • I’ve also heard this theroy. Also, it’s how i have mine set up. From what i’ve read and gathered is, The farther the contact screw is set, the slower it runs (for coloring and shading) and closer the faster (for lining). i don’t know if i’m doing it wrong, but either way it works for me.

i never thought of that honestly. I did plan on (when people actually start paying me) take some of that for supplies and ink. Also, i seem to have this problem of what to charge or if i should. I mean, to some. i’m just a shady, basement dweller tattooist. I don’t think it falls under this posting, i’m sorry, but, could somone help with the…[Read more]

to ben, yep from the US, and the kit i got was from monster steel. to rob and nyte, thinks fer clearing that up for me. just thought that it being a open wound would burn.
I have thought about getting a ink set, but found out this month that i’m going to be a new dad. So kinda tore between saving for the baby or go on with my plans. In the mean…[Read more]

i got some of that Kuro Sumi ink for lining and tribal. It’s just that the ingrediants contain Witch Hazel and alcohol. I figured that would burn like fire, i aint got the balls to test it on myself yet. Thinks for the feed back.

  • Just throwing it out there. Why not go ahead with the scaling on the snake and shading on the skull?

  • Jester Ink replied to the topic recent self tat in the forum Post your work here 12 years ago

nope. all myself tats are done by me. it’s a challenge to stretch the skin and tat at the same time. this was the easist one to do, the one near my elbow was harder.

  • i have thought of that area to test. just really sensitive though. this tat is also a cover up of a previous tat and scarring. that whole arm is scared pretty bad, just testing out ideas for a sleeve some time. my right arm and legs are going to be professionally done. I’m pretty sure i’ve done a rookie mistake and have tatted other people. I have…[Read more]

  • i live in missouri, and have also wondered this question. did some research and found that : Missouri: The state of Missouri has not developed written guidance on the disposal of household generated needles. (Superior Tattoo Equipment recommends it’s convenient all-in-one solidification kit for tattooing and piercing needle disposal.)
    also h…[Read more]
