my power supply knob is small enough to fit an ink cap over. I just place an ink cap on it, when im done, throw it away. barrier protection at its cheapest!

jtdaltonsr replied to the topic Cut-back machines? in the forum My Machine Hates Me! 12 years, 9 months ago
i think so bc you tend to move your hand faster at first, bc when u watch a tattoo, it looks so fluid and quick. This way, u will have a faster machine that will be able to be adjusted to your hand speed. just be careful, bc those things can become razorblades if ur not careful enough!

jtdaltonsr replied to the topic Cut-back machines? in the forum My Machine Hates Me! 12 years, 9 months ago
Cutback machines are cutback on the frame at the front binding post, allowing it to be adjusted to bring the contact screw further back. This will cause the machine to run faster and hit a lil harder, and u usually have to get cutback front springs, or cut your own. Usually this is a one pass liner setup.

jtdaltonsr replied to the topic Autoclave/Pressure Cooker? in the forum General Questions About Tattooing Safe 12 years, 9 months ago
well since i last posted on this thread, I actually purchased a pressure cooker for about $20. i made a spacer so that my metals dont touch the actual water, I put it at 15lbs for about 20 minutes, i have autoclave bags, and this works fine. I have had my cooker spore tested every month, and without a negative test. The autoclave bags have an…[Read more]

jtdaltonsr replied to the topic have metal…no autoclave… in the forum My Machine Hates Me! 12 years, 9 months ago
I agree with u Hated. Disposable is the way to go. But the truth is, an autoclave IS a pressure cooker. :o research it. Most shops and regulatory factors state to use an autoclave at 15lbs of pressure for 15 minutes. I do the same with my pressure cooker for 20, and THEN place in a sterile solution. I may have worded this thread wrong at first, i…[Read more]

i understand what people are trying to portray to me,but sometimes people overthink a question or comment. All i was getting at was that I got a pressure cooker, which is an autoclave without a pressure guage. I do 15lbs of pressure for 20 minutes, and then soak in alcohol. If the people that bash scratchers would have read my post in its entirety,…[Read more]

jtdaltonsr replied to the topic FIRST tattoo! (on skin!) in the forum Post your work here 12 years, 9 months ago
try to add different weights of lines. One size lines makes a tattoo look bland. I can see where u are going with the tat, but try to put some thicker lines in there. Also, u may want to try to wash your grey down. looks like just black to me, it would help with the blending and gradience. other than that, ur on ur way man! keep up the practice.
