I’ve never heard about bad reactions…I’m thinking of getting some just to see. I’ll let you know if I do.
Not so much a case of allergy-type reactions, from what I heard, it’s the texture/workability of the skin which can be altered. I did actually buy some numbing cream a few months back, but never actually used it, because it…[Read more]

Might be worth the $30 for a topical to numb her up.
Nah, she’s fucked me around too much to deserve an easy tattoo, she’ll take the pain and like it :D Besides, I’ve heard that numbing cream affects how the skin reacts under the needle, so I’d just as sooner not use it anyway :D

I like the design. I don’t think there is anything there you won’t be able to clean up. Did you use the liner for the tight corners before you switched to a shading/mag needle?
Thanks, bro, it’s actually her own design, I just figured it was easier to freehand it on rather than stencil it just so I could get the lines to flow…[Read more]

It’s a sickening feeling, isn’t it, but it happens to us all. I fucked up a tattoo I was doing yesterday, just because I didn’t think through the process enough. I was doing a tribal scorpion which was to have a white line between the pincers, resembling the traceline on a heart monitor. I outlined the scorpion, then outlined the white trace…[Read more]

Thanks. This one “felt” right. Still isn’t perfect but a nice step in the right direction.
I actually shaded before coloring on this one. I didn’t want hard black in the color and made a wash. I’ll post up when it heals and we’ll see what happens with it.
I think I’m done on me for a bit…my thighs hurt. :) Hard to not get…

Thanks for the input.
I keep hearing different ideas on coloring in. Some, like you, say one or two passes. Others say run the machine slow and soft and keep hitting the area to build it gradually. I suppose it is another “what works for you” type of thing.I think the essential point, is if the machine is hitting hard or soft……[Read more]

That’s looking good, bro :) Something I like to do, is shading black and grey style first of all before adding color, just to add that extra dimension :)

its a sanitation issueI don’t tend to put my ring back on over the top of my glove, and I always pull the glove over my watch and then barrier my arm as well… Any input on the topic though?…[Read more]

By no means Im a pro. But I was taught to crawl before I walk, and learn to walk before i run. My suggestion would be work on your lines before you start to color. Dont skip ahead, yet. The line is the base of the tattoo, it defines the tattoo, with out that base, the tattoo will fall.
Seems you have friends that have confidence…

That is a good friend to have. One of my good friends growing up went on to make a living out of tattooing. As he was progressing I was his canvas often.
