The first thing I came across is dont use chines shit….some are built good but there are alot out there that suck. Not sure if he gets his crap from china or not but from what i gather it could be a few things. Power supply mainly, and ill give an example the female I work with has all chines crap and was getting a power supply in the mail so had to use hers. With my previous power supply I ran my liner at 8-9 volts, just to get my machine to begin to move with her chines crap I was at 14 volts. So before going and buying all kinds of crap change power supply. Just another tidbit when you get a brand new machine run it a full 24 hours before using. That way it breaks in all the the little parts and tune from there. Got that info from a very old long time tattooer.

The only time i ever do color with my liner is on a very small area that most of my mags or rounds cant get or even on the very tips of the tribal. For the longest time I played with shader and color machines, best thing I can tell you is buy another shading machine and change your contact screw to the width of a dime and nickle together and go from there.

I use a stacked needle, and as far as an 8 wrap I thought the same thing but it seems to be working just fine when I slow way down. Plus thats how it came…but thanks for the info ill keep plugging away and hope for the best.

Yea i make sure that the depth is the same when it makes contact, i guess im gonna have to put a ankle weight on my wrist to try and slow it down. Just to make sure even with a mag make circles or use a sweeping motion? Cus everywhere I look I get both answers. Thanks for the info.

Yea i use 3 rubber bands and the throw is good and the gap is small so small that if I go any smaller there wont be any throw at all.

I run the needle about a nickles width out of the tube, im not inept i know if what im doing is going to cause damage or not. I always test the set up on myself before anyone else, like I said practice skins do not help me at all. I am trying to get my hands on some pig skin but still no luck.

So basicly your saying there is no way to get the machine to speed up without causing damage?

Haven t been doing this long but buying a kit isn’t bad but not worth it. I have only been doing this for about a year but if I could go back and buy machines and so on separately I would in a heart beat. The kit I got from Superior Tattoo isnt bad but thinking about it now the money I wasted on it would have been so much better putting to a nice machine. That is if you are serious about doing it and are going to stick with it no matter what.
