sometimes it is your voltage, or how you machine is tuned
if your machine isnt tuned properly youll get that “biting” effect

place it down to the skin until you see the ink starting to pool then go down slightly more. you can FEEL and sometimes HEAR the needle pricking the skin

no matter who i tattoo i always wear gloves
i also change gloves after putting on the stencil and such to prevent cross contamination from the skin to my ink bottles etc

your line work in the first one looks a little deep
you want to avoid the “cut” look
you dont want to cut people while doing your lines
also try to avoid solid white spaces. white tends to change colour over time especially with people who are in the sun a lot and tan

for a colour packer I also like to have a heavier machine, with a heavier armature bar :)

a rule of thumb i use to judge time is my fist! each fist i can fit into the design is one hour. :)

the stuff I use is 2 parts isopropyl alcohol, and 7 parts detol btw! :)
