Pretty solid line work, make sure all the lines meet in a solid manner, good saturation in the colored areas, skin filled in solid but not overworked. I like em.

Just throwing it out there. Why not go ahead with the scaling on the snake and shading on the skull?
I agree, to an extent, look for some examples. I think if you patch the scales in, not just full tilt scale the whole snake, and give it full color, you’ll come out with a very nice design.

Cant really get zoomed in on it, but it looks pretty good from here. Did you use white as a contrast in the hair? I couldn’t tell if it was the light source making it look that way. I’ve been obsessing on how to make some good textured realistic hair lately, as I want to try a portrait soon.

Pack that thing with color top to bottom, go old school with it, that a classic example of what a good oldschool tattoo should be.

Rees replied to the topic the nickel/dime gap etc… in the forum Best Tattoo Machines 12 years ago
When I first began tattooing I was taught to use dime for liner, nickel for shader and color. The more I studied and read though, the more I realized that while effective to an extent, there are better ways to go about it. The concept is using the air gap to basically control the speed of the needle for different applications. Eikon put out a…[Read more]
