Lesson 1: Introduction, and Fundamentals
This is the first lesson. This is mainly a test to see each of your drawing abilities. Any formal apprenticeship worth it’s salt starts with some drawing. Without the ability to draw you cannot be a tattoo artist. Unless of course you want to be a copy/flash artist for your entire career. This wouldn’t…[Read more]

Yes she did fall in love with a priest. It’s from a famous Nō play. She became a Hannya and would kill unfaithful men.
Your first post looks like its from Wikipedia which is easily editted, and altered. not very accurate. colleges and universities wont even accept wikipedia as a resource during projects.
I’ve been studying Japanese, and the…[Read more]

Don’t you dare call yourself that, scratcher is a term which I use exclusively to define people who have a tattoo “gun” (thats what they call it) who give out bad tattoos, are not clean, and have no working knowledge of the proper methods, nor a desire to learn the correct way. Ramenuzumaki replied to the topic Practicing on Fruit – Grapefruits vs. Honeydew? in the forum Post your work here 11 years, 4 months ago
A bloodline is simply a cut on the skin. You need to be VERY careful with blood lines as they are exactly that: lines of blood. You dont even need water. You simply use just your needle without ink. HOWEVER! Be sure you can finish the piece. Your bloodlines are gone if you need more than one session. Also as i said you need to be careful as to not…[Read more]

As I mentioned before I dont think there are any “Sticky” posts unless only the admin can actually do them. I am a Global Mod, and am unable to sticky posts. I’m pretty sure Canvas would back this as well. I work for Canvas, so I’ll email him about the whole “sticky” situation. Either tonight, or tomorrow I’ll start a new topic, and get this ball…[Read more]

This is true. However, how many people would actually go out of their way to educate themselves prior to doing these lessons? Most would just avoid it all together since technically it isn’t mandatory.
I wouldn’t mind being a “teacher” for the lack of a better term. Grade the work done, and give out the lessons n such.

I’m behind this idea actually. We used to have art contests, so why not do this, right? Have an actual curriculum so-to-speak. However, I wouldn’t start with fruit. I would start with paper, then work up to fruit.
Draw 20 roses. draw 15 skulls. draw 30 lilies. etc. This way you get to practice your tattooing techniques before even wasting needles…[Read more]
