Yeah try them out, let me know how you like them and I agree, black and grey are my favorite too!
Yes, sometimes, but it depends on the client, their skin, and the tattoo.
I like to use them to refine color and grey near edges or on near bloodlines. So they have cleaner edges, I’m not very comfortable using a mag on its side yet.

You’re welcome, Angie.
I use them for black and grey shading, I find that they make a smoother and more fluid gradient.

You’re welcome. I know how that is, face’s are one of the hardest things for me too.
I can do other realism work fairly well, but I like trying all types of drawings such as: realism, surrealism, abstract or my own style which I guess is like a combination of all of them combined.
If you have tracing paper, you can always trace that one and just…[Read more]

Yeah, I know about some of those numbing ointments, but my little brother is stubborn and doesn’t want to use them. hahaa
I agree, all that pain or very little pain depending on the person, is all part of getting a tattoo.
But when it’s all said and done, it’s definitely worth it.
Thanks, Infamous!!! (: -

No not necessarily, round bugpins are a tighter needle group. They could better depending on the tattoo, like a portrait.
In my opinion, there is no difference between a curved mag and standard mag when it comes to color work. I find that they equally color pack the same.
In my opinion, when it comes to using a curved mag for shading, they’re…[Read more] -

WOW, NICE!!! I’m going to have to debate with myself if I’d like to spend $50 on one of those or 2 cheap hands for the same price. haha

Yeah, but that’s not like tattooing real skin. Either is that, most likely but it can’t hurt to try it. I’m waiting for my local butcher to call I order a few sheets of pig skin, which is the best thing to practice on, in my opinion.

I like the realistic one a lot, Wyki!!! :D My only constructive criticisms would be to add some darker shading for contrast, and beef up some of the lines. Other than that very solid shading and line work. Keep it up!!! (No, I’m not judging his piece as if I were a Administrator or Moderator.) Just giving some genuine artist to artist, advice.

Yeah, me too. I’m thinking about buying one just to try it out, it can’t hurt. My favourite thing to practice on though is pig skin, wrap around something and thing have at it. Closest and best thing to real skin, in my opinion.
