Jester,
You can install MS Works for MAC and transfer it that way or use any Photoshop Product and save it as .JPEG… but I haven’t play with a Dot matrix in a long time so i don’t know if it will like .JPEG or .BMP…

Really nice work…
Just a little advice if you don’t mind… When ever you do anything with scale’s…specially Japanese… make sure you pay attention to where the fish or dragon bends… in the inside of the bend the scales should be tight and close and in the outside of the bend the opposite… (I mean in the middle of the bend in and out)….
But your art if pretty dam good… Kuddos…

This subject has been a big issue for decades all around!!!..
Old Schools believe in the apprenticeship were you are a slave before they teach you anything so you have to earn your Dues!!! and then you have the “New Schools” were they don’t believe in the old school ways nor they believe in any type of structure…and then you have people like me… and let em explain:
I’ve been tattooing for 10 years or so…
I can draw ok…but really I suck at it… I am a video game 3D animator… I create 3D worlds for video games…mostly MMORPGS… I can draw the most bad-ass what ever you want in digital media… but the reality is I cant draw by hand as a “real” tattooist should… but reality is… I can tattoo and I can do it like a pro…I tried an apprenticeship once in 1993… they ask me for $4,500… and treat me like shit… by the second month I got tire of it…ask for my money back…the owner refuse, I bit the living hell out of him and made him give me the money and I did tattoo in his fore head “I am a looser”… I did spend 10 days in jail and they gave me a choice because was my first offense…go to jail for 2 years or join the Army… Long story short… I retired from the Army…
After that… I self thought my self by just doing it in Pork Skin… the grape fruit didn’t work that well for me…by the way, I did tattoo few live pigs…just get them drunk first… they like beer and vodka…. don’t know why they didn’t like my Jack Daniels…
Schools… for my way of learning… 3 Weeks in a school would be enough for what you have to learn (the basics)… I don’t care what people say… The real tattoo artist (I am talking about tattooing not drawing)…After a 2 year or so tattooing…he/she is on his/her own…now there is no more learning…now is perfecting the skills!!!…after the first year tattooing at least 3 or 4 tattoos a week you don’t learn new skills you have to perfect your skills and make adjustments and fine tune them… eventually you will learn if the opportunity arise other way to tattoo like the Japanese style or Polynesian style… but that comes with experience…

Looppi, what brand of Ink are you using?…
Also, regardless on how flexible you might be… if you going to do your tight you should have some a friend help you stretch your skin… I been tattooing for 10 years and about 2 months ago I decided to tattoo my self for the first time… No a good idea… but with the help of my son I was able to finish it!!!… I did tattoo my tight also… My son help me stretch my skin…

Guys… If you have any issue with dot matrix Printer Drivers… Any PC running MS Windows OS either Business or Pro edition should be able to auto detect the printer, Home editions, I don’t believe it would have all the .DLL database complete… If you cant find it… send me a PM… I still do some consultant job inside the Military installation and they still use Dot Matrix for some old systems… I might be able to find some… just send me Brand and model… and for MAC… I been in IT for over 20 years and that is a dark area for me…even tho I can do a little bit of Pearl language…I don’t know shit about Mac…. except that you can install a Windows partition on it!!! ;)

A Preacher with Ink…Awesome!!!…
I had a similar issue with a friend and after few tries…I changed Ink an bammm!!! works like a champ!!! this tattoo specifically was all Black and Blue… I change ink and use the Kuro-Sumi for the black and the guy is a DJ and do a lot of underground parties so he ask me to do some other details with florescent ink for the black lights of the parties!!! I used Moms Nuclear UV – Blue Smoke… after that… his tattoo in his finger hasn’t fade… now the UV blue I did retouched once 9 months after!!!

Ink’s/Pigments… That is a complicated subject… on my experience, inks works different in every skin… some people skin take any ink some people are a bit complicated and only works good with a specific brand… For me so far, I like SkinCandy… I have been using it for the past year or so and I am very pleased…I used to use Mom’s…
Now on the machines… I personally buy my machines from 2 places:
Coil Machines: http://martini-machines.com and I use the Calavera II
Rotary Machines: http://www.frictiontattoo.com and I use the *PRO* Diablo Rotary Machines
