I had started to post in other areas on this idiot reaper. Yes reaper you are a freaking idiot, and just so you know
MY shop, is located at 3821 Al Hwy 202 Anniston Alabama 36201 if you EVER feel froggy enough to walk in my door and show the same lack of courtesy you show here! Please do, because you are so very welcome to! :D

I see machines like ink or needles. I currently switched over to Cam Machines. Relatively decently priced and they run great, my liners run at 4.5 volts, and my shaders run at 5.3 volts perfectly, sometimes even too hard.

  • Spider replied to the topic PLEASE HELP in the forum My Machine Hates Me! 11 years, 1 month ago

Seriously! OK, I can remain calm about this at this point, but seriously! What you are essentially asking is the equivalent of “I bought a car and it’s out of gas, can someone please tell me how to put gas in my car?” I am not being mean, only honest. If you took the time to look at the machine yu would see that the design and concept are very…[Read more]

  • Maybe the title in this should be changed to “Adventures in Tattooing” LOL..
The thing about this industry is that it is rife with uncertainty at some point and time. And well sometimes you just gotta make the leap and do your best and hope…Sorry to hear that you felt this was a bad decision, and hope that if the guy makes it and you go back…[Read more]

  • Start with clear contact paper to get the lines of what is already there exactly as it is, then use some opaque whitening sessions, 2-3 should do it. Once you have that start looking for or coming up with designs that would fit relatively well over the existing piece, use alot of purples, dark dark blues, blacks and dark greens maybe, even black…[Read more]

I blame those stupid freaking tv shows! I have actually had people since those shows have started look at me in surprise when I tell them a full sleeve will take about 15 hours and then ask me, well what can you do in one session? uh….the outlines!

  • Spider replied to the topic Question time in the forum Rants and Raves 11 years, 1 month ago

I can agree charging him for the fix, I wouldn’t touch anything up if he allowed someone else to jack it up. It’s shop policy here that if you come in, pay for a small session on a large piece and get the outlines done, then goto johnny handpicker down the road and he/ she jacks it all up then you come back to have it “fixed” you are more than…[Read more]

Apprentices should not do feet or hands until they have been inking in skin for at least 3-6 months really. Way too easy to jack up in that area and then (for any decent shop that is ) it is now the shops responsibility to fix the jacked up ink. Time is money, and time spent giving out free ink to fix a mistake is time away from potentially money…[Read more]

  • I’ve never used scream, only thing I know for sure about that ink is that a few years ago they had a major recall for their reds and yellows I think. It was some bad bad bad stuff. And I believe there is still a class action lawsuit going from that for people that had some permanent problems from it. No I am not joking…Google scream ink lawsuit.…[Read more]

Script script script………I admit this not only to myself but to my clients as well. I have done so many letters, words, initials over the years that I do cringe when someone wants any kind of script. (Nice title by the way)
But as many letters as I have done, I will do them carefully and exact, and I can honestly say that in my years I…[Read more]

  • Well your so far dedication is commended. As far as an apprentice goes I wish it was just that easy for someone to say they want it, we take them in and kabam an artist is born. Apprenticing is sometimes hard because not only do you have to have drive, but you have to be a good mix for the shop chemistry as well. I’ll return your email and talk to…[Read more]

  • Using small liners is a learned experience. I only recently (in the last 4 years) started using 1rl’s for some of my line work. But I agree with Ram. Get used to larger needle sets and getting your hands trained in straight lines before you move on to the smaller needle sizes. When you can lay decently longer lines with no wobble, stop mid line…[Read more]

  • Sometimes it’s the little things that make someone think ya know.

  • I would still feel wary of using well water, the thing of it is that you never know IF anything has gotten into your water source. While this may not affect it’s ability to be drank, not so sure about inserting it into the skin, even in small amounts. At the very least I (personally) would have a stock of boiled water separate for ink use at all times.

  • Nicely done. When you attempt portrait work keep in mind there is no right way to do it, but there a ton of wrong ways to do it. Take your time and don’t rush.
