• It might not be as uncommon as you think. Thank fully it’s not here where I am, but me growing up where I did the whole extortion thing is not that uncommon. Where I grew up it wasn’t biker gangs but street gangs that pulled this kind of stuff. You got a few choices really, fight em and hopefully gain some respect and mutual understanding, pay em…[Read more]

Hold your stencil in place. Applying paint to a stencil is easy. Three method available that are spray, brush and roll. Spraying paint on a stencil can be very quick but you must use control.

Yeah there are a multitude of ways to do things. :)

But what I didnt know, was that some whites are mixing whites. Do you know of any?

Radiant, Eternal Snow White, or even some witch hazel mixed with opaque white and basically thinned out ALOT is good for mixing white. I’d recommend Mairo Barths…[Read more]

  • well we are not going anywhere anytime soon and totally understand about being picky on the shop thing. We do not tolerate drug use and so have had many qualified artist turn down the booth because we don’t want them coming to work high. As such is our industry unfortunately. Booth still open for the right person….

  • When I moved to the area where I am at now I started in my house in June 2012 after checking with every local shop out here and just not wanting to work at ANY shop out here, they were disgusting!. Finally made enough money and picked up enough of a following to open my shop in a 1000 sq ft building with 3 booths, reception area, photo booth, and…[Read more]

Many of us do it for the love of what we do, tattoo that is. And tbh anyone who says they aren’t in it professionally for the money is a flat out liar! OF Course we are in it for the money when you finally make the leap to go pro, otherwise why charge anything for your art, just goto the shop and throw up your sign that says, “All ink is…[Read more]

  • TBH I have MORE respect for a tattoo artist that has NO ink and more than a decade in the industry because of his/ her level of self-control! Peck is a giant ASSWIPE! I’ve heard the whole dentist with bad teeth arguement and blah blah blah, ok so thinking like that, what ur saying is that if ur going in for open heart surgery, unless the doc…[Read more]

For me it’s always been the thicker the white the better results I’ve had with it. I could understand adding some glycerinmaybe, but witch hazel? That would thin it out imo, making it harder to pack in yes? But then again we get the 1000 ways to do something the right way and to each thier own. The only thing I know for sure to share would be to…[Read more]

  • Adding some white in the right amounts will greatly enahnce alot of pieces. On this one I used a 5M2 for the white, as well as used a water washed baby blue along with dark blue, and baby blue to get the desired shading and color blends, all applied seprately of course. Take advantage of the effects of washing your colors at times for awesome…[Read more]

Home set-ups can be effective, This is one of my old set-up I was using in my home from June of 2012 until july 2013. I used glass mirrored folding closet doors set-up in an accordian style to give me a folding wall, the cart is a tea cart from Ikea, and the wall shelf is something I found at a thrift store and gutted so that it opened and made a…[Read more]

Personally I really dislike feet pieces because the person who gets them rarely takes care of them right, meaning with extra care, have to wash it more, keep it moisturized and basically out of harms way more. Could also be that the skin under is scarred, in which…[Read more]

never used one so can’t say one way or another. In my booth I have 6 machines tuned and ready to go, of course my favs and then back-ups, in the clean room I have another 4 machines tuned and ready to run just in case. My average use is 4 machines per piece, I do alot of larger pieces and like to have my set-ups with a varying needle grouping for…[Read more]

  • Most definately take some slow breathes there. And do be selective. If ur in a shop it doesn’t mean that you have to take every new piece that comes in the door. If ur not in a shop you can be much more selective in the process of who and what you ink. If you are good they will come back. Think Guy Aithchinson, if I remember right a few years back…[Read more]

ok, so here’s what I’ll do, follow the link here and it will tke you to a hidden page on my shop’s website, The page will have a book that may help a little in tuning your machine. The issue you are having sounds like a combination of your hand moving too fast and not enough stretching of the skin, If the skin is not stretched enough you get a…[Read more]

Not a bad start but you definately need to work on yur lines. don’t go in so fast when you stop a line to pick it back up and learn to watch where your needle is before you it the skin. In other words just slow it down some. And it looks like you tilted your hand when you hit some curves which…[Read more]

  • The contact screw should be tuned mostly by feel (throw) and by sound. Ur machine should not ever sound like a minature jackhammer, more like a bee buzzing close to you, the throw is however you want it, whether you are riding the tube or not, your choice on that one. The “o clock” position is just not conucive to a good tuned machine.
