Absolutely not and anyone who even considers this is IMO a moron! I have been in the industry for 10 1/2 years, learned from a 30 year pro, and…[Read more]

Your lines look good, the skull piece is a little too noisy for my taste and style but good none the less. Don’t fall prey to the “well this guy uses this ink” crap either. There are so many good inks out there make sure you get and use the ones you like, my booth in the shop has 4 different brands becaue I like some colors from one, some colors…[Read more]

Nice! Where can I get some of that Quat 20?
Some states have restrictions on it. I go thru a janitorial supply place that will only sell to a registered business, try a search and you’ll find the product.

Spider replied to the topic Thermal Printers? in the forum Design Ideas / Technique 11 years, 5 months ago
You can also use a dot matrix printer with no ink. Some of these can be found for a relatively cheap price. But I doubt an inkjet would work, never really gave it a go, I just saved up and eventually bought a small thermal unit, about 140 us dollars.

the thing about greensoap is it is an irritant.
Hence why I use witch hazel for the irritation. I also don’t use green soap during the ink, simple good old distilled water with some witch hazel added to it is all I wipe with during the process. To each thier own ya know. I do use green soap when I am taking breaks or when I…[Read more]

I see…. I think I better get my hands on some Witch Hazel. I did a grey shading skull, and it took forever for the redness to go away.
But now to the big question, where do I get my hands on some of this? Does regular tattoo supplier sell it?any pharmacy will have it.

And what exactly does ride the tube mean? I assume it means set the needle flush with the end of the tube and put the tube flat against the skin. Is that right?
Riding the tube is just that, letting the tube help guide your needle so that you go a preferred depth with your strokes. Some do it some don’t. but tuning your machine is…[Read more]

could I still add oil at this point or would it completely negate the…

My main issue with the whole “Cord bag” situation is that the cord–depending on the piece–has an EXTREMELY high chance of touching the client, tattoo area, floor, or depending on how you tattoo YOU. Sometimes to get certain angles I hang my cord over my shoulder to get better leverage. By doing this I am contaminating my cord…

Really the only thing that is fundamentally necessary is that you keep everything clean. The rest is up to the required state regulations and standards if you follow them, and of course your preferences. Keeping a good pactice is wipe down everything, get in the habit of doing so everytime you touch anything or set up for new ink and after each…[Read more]
