I use a grey wash I made using Kuro Sumi Outlining ink for my shading, and either Alla Prima Black, or Intenze Zuper black for my outlines. I find the Kuro has a bit of a blue undertone so once healed it doesn’t stay black black.

The thing on the machine is for comfort. It makes it so the machine rests softly on the back of your hand. It helps to even out the weight of heavier machines as well. Some people don’t like the hard feel of their machine on their hand, so these were made. Theres nothing wrong with it, and they are disposable.
As far as the set up theres nothing…[Read more]

Recent from 2014. Keep in mind I am a traditional artist, not realism. When I look at pictures I see bold lines, not shapes and shades like portrait artists.

If you’re going to get M1–weaved mag–I recommend using RM–Round, or Curved Mag–as they are the same needle except the ends are in a round or curved configuration. Some say with the round ends it fits into the indent created by the pressure of the needles better, and causes less trauma. I’m not 100% sure on this as I just recently started using…[Read more]

If you’re using M1 I suggest switching to RM. RM are weaved magnums but the end is rounded. this causes less trauma to the skin as it fits into the pressured area perfectly. the rounded edges are also good for when you are just using the side of the mag.

I always have a paper towel wrapped around my left middle fingers so I can alway shave paper towel to stretch. However, once the outline is done it doesnt help too much as I wet wipe once the outline is done.

Looks good. Pass. I like the red/yellow rose. I also did one similar to that with the same colour scheme last year. :3

dont run the machine, and just hover your tip over the line. this way you can test to see if you can do the whole line in one shot. If not you CAN stop if there are lines that meet. like you can TECHNICALLY do T in three lines if needed. You can stop where the top line meeds the vertical line, and do the top line in two lines. It’s best if you can…[Read more]

I prefer to use diamonds yes
it makes a slight groove for your needle to rest it so it has less of a chance of moving aroundyour rubber bands should be tight enough to pull the bend needle bar straight, but not so tight that they bend the needle bar towards the coils
yes rest your palm on the client. you should be doing what is callled a three…[Read more]

there are many many factors that go into a tattoo. the area, and the how sensitive your client’s skin is will affect the swelling. try adding 4 capfuls of witch hazel and bactine to your wash bottle. itll help a lot.

Mags use FT or Flat Tips
M1 is weaved mag. the needles are put on top of each other, and weave: .-.-.
M2 is stacked mag. the same idea, but tighter. .:::.
RM is round mag, or curved mag. It’s the same as M1, but the end is curved. ) instead of |
F is flat. One line. 7F is one line of 7 needles. personally I don’t use them. A 5 M1 is one row of 3…[Read more] -

This doesn’t really tell us anything. You went and made a free website today, and tossed a picture on it. It’s even filled with default sample pictures. I could do that, and even use images of tattoos I didn’t even do.
Do you run/work in a shop? What’s it called? Where is it located?
