That’s nice man I like it..looks like the bottom of the moon didn’t round out, unless that’s what you were going for. Still looks great considering you did ur own calf, way to go!

I do the same just get a paper towel good and wet and wipe down the skin it works perfectly.. if the skins not wet enough I will dab the stencil lightly so that it soaks thru, carefully so it don’t smudge. Never used stencil application products, seem like a waste of money to me since green soap works so well..

That is really a great piece man I really can’t tattoo worth shit on practice skin its not really the tattooing it that gets me its trying to wipe it clean. That makes a lot of sense thanks for the advise, it did turn out exactly like my drawing, which was done with a ballpoint pen.. I do have to break my habit of just going up and down like I do with a pencil.. I will try different washes next time I do any shading, and ill try out the mag needles thank you.

Yea I was kinda whip shading some, but mostly I would dip in distilled water and run my hand a little faster to make it lighter. Here is a pic of my result.

I hear ya man I’m just starting out, I always work off the needle tip but I noticed that when it don’t take, I just dip it, wipe it, strech the skin n go back over it slower and it turns out good. If that don’t work I would try speeding up the machine, voltage first, if that don’t work then adjust with the contact screw.. this is based on my own…[Read more]

Maybe try stretching the skin a lil tighter and slowing down ur hand a little to get a good solid line first time, Idk if this helps , what kind of ink you using? Could maybe be the machine speed as well
