Quality vs. Quantity?
This isn’t a real active forum but the participation is better than I’ve seen on most forums in terms of staying on topic. Usually you have to sift through 20 pounds of bullshit to find something worth reading…this one just lacks the fertilizer.

that was funny!!!
I just use anti-bacterial soap and I’m not afraid to saturate a paper towel. One drag over top lightly gets things back to where they need to be pretty quick. At…[Read more]

tell your buddy to man up. :)
or try to not be so aggressive. I wipe, dabbing just doesn’t clean, it spreads.

TexasPT replied to the topic scabing in the forum Design Ideas / Technique 13 years, 2 months ago
I had some pretty good scabs when I used rounds. I blamed the rounds. A few tattoos later I fixed things like needle depth and how hard my machine was hitting…my stuff is healing in 4-7 days now and scabs just are not happening.

I love my Mario Barth videos. He was covering this in one of his on a no-line portrait he did. He mentioned the old world way of thinking was always light to dark. He followed it with saying that it just doesn’t make sense since you can’t make things lighter really, but you can always add darkness. He would lay down his lightest tones, then…[Read more]

how did everyone find this place? I got “the book” with a kit and ended up here. I honestly would have never thought to look for a forum for wanna-be tattooists. I don’t mean that as a negative…we’re just folks that are not in shops.
I’m glad I found it, though. I’ve actually learned a lot here. When you get so many people who are making, or…[Read more]

TexasPT replied to the topic runaway machine in the forum My Machine Hates Me! 13 years, 2 months ago
foot switches have an “open” circuit. When you step on the peddle you close the circuit, and power can make it to your machine. What’s happening is your switch is stuck, somehow, in the closed position. (foot down)
You’ll need to open it up and see what’s going on. Probably a wire broke and has dropped to complete the circuit without you…[Read more]

I’m guessing counterfeit or old. I just paid 11.99 after shipping for an ounce of Intenze true black.
$41 or $50 for shipping from China. Why buy something from the U.S that is sent to China to get it shipped back to the U.S.?

you can still go pretty big, but the picture you upload has to be that big. I do everything as big as I can and when mine pop up they take half my 17″ monitor almost. Just make sure the dimensions you are loading are at the limit for what the site will take.

please don’t think I was knocking down the piece…I love it. I just think a focus on what can be done better is a good thing. It helps everyone grow. One thing I failed to mention is the white highlights you put in. I really think these are a game changer in tattoos.
