It looks good. Yes, it’s harder on practice skin to get a gradual fade. It can be done, though. Hand speed is everything I’ve found.

if you bought an inexpensive kit I’d check the footswitch first. I had one go and the symptoms are exactly as you described. Opened it up, soldered the wife, and it’s run like a champ since.

Looks like your theater masks have a pretty good amount of blowouts. (but the lines look like a HUGE improvement) 2 things typically cause that. Either going too deep with the needle, or holding it at too great an angle. (I did this a few weeks ago so the lesson is fresh in my mind)

when the machine is off the Abar should NOT touch the front coil. Where it is above it will depend on the rear spring and if it has been bent up or down.
