Looks really clean, Jammer. Nice work. I like the addition of the tools used.

why not smaller rounds for lining? Just curious.
I just bought some 14r shaders…can’t wait to give them a go. I’ve been using 7 and 9s a lot lately and even a 5 on some tight spots.

This is about the best advice I’ve seen on here. I’m guilty of not taking my time like I should…when I do, results follow.

Nobody should have to change or be expected to in order to fit the ideals of another person. I firmly believe that.
Lysa believes she is being over-looked because she isn’t Barbie-esque. I ‘m just saying remove that variable and you’ll know if that is really why.
My post was about removing variables…nothing more.

Sorry that didn’t work out for you. Unfortunately it is up to the shop who they bring on and it doesn’t always have to be on artistic merits.

1. NO- but I have heard it treats colors just like it does black…you create a wash. I’ve always added white and lightened it up like that.
2. Yes. Someone, maybe here, mentioned that. If you lay down a light wash and then go over it with solid color you get a very natural looking “shadow” from darker to lighter but the color is still a part…[Read more]

different tools for different jobs, really. I like to build lines with round shaders but think I can get a better blend with a mag. A 5rs will fill in tighter places easier (to me) , I think, but if I have a large area to fill I’ll use a mag.
which ink is best is like asking which girl is prettiest…it’s all a matter of personal preference.…[Read more]

First thing that stands out is that you are in a hurry. You want the color to go in but you are not being patient. Slow down and saturate. That alone will improve it 10x. Also…don’t sketch lines. Be very specific on where you want the machine to go.
I’d say you are off to a WONDERFUL start. Keep working on improving every time you pick up a…[Read more]

looks good…I’d say if you want your drawing to translate over to tattooing with a smoother transition get in the habit of doing single pass lines on your drawings. If a second pass is needed…keep it on top of the first. I’ve always been a “sketcher” but have tried to kick the habit when I’m putting down final lines.

looks good. If you are looking to apprentice based on your portfolio I’d suggest broadening your horizons a bit and hitting multiple styles. You have talent for sure.

Eternal has the “muted earth tones” and “zombie” color sets. Those would have the pale blues, light browns, grays, etc. that you would need. You could probably buy them individually rather than the entire set if you didn’t need them all.
I’m a big fan of Eternal but only from the work I’ve seen…not because I have experience with them.

Yeah…I lost my stencil on the belly and rather than stop and redraw I went billy baddass on it. :( I just need to slow down. And thanks…I’m progressing but I’ve not done as many as I want to lately so I feel like I haven’t gotten much practice.
