Oh yeah, I’m a HUGE Rockabilly and Psychobilly fan. NUTS for the stuff. Nekromantix, Mad Sin, Southern Culture on the Skids, The Cramps, Tiger…[Read more]

I like the idea, good stuff. Having seen your work I don’t think the shakes will be an issue when you go to clean it up.

That is AWESOME!!! When I was in high-school, long ago, in art we had to draw an egg and then create something around it. I drew about 1000 sperm coming at it from all angles. The teacher did no appreciate my ode to reproduction. :)

Me, too. If worse comes to worse, I do have room on my thigh for one, but HATE working upside down when doing portraits. It really messes up my perspectives.

That said…the piece looks nice. I think there is room for improvement on shading and color blending. You want it to be smooth. I like how you did the hair on the woman. (and she looks to be having a good time)…

Thanks. I do colored pencil, charcoal and I can do paint but I don’t really like it. Honestly graphite is my favorite non-skin medium.

That is about what I got out of my reading too. Yesterday I took apart the shading machine and replaced the long .18g front spring with a shorter .20 spring. I was able to run it a bit faster but the hit stayed soft and I kept a short throw to smooth stuff out. I decided to rework the bird on my thigh because it came out very light…

I know it covers it in the book…but maybe I’m unclear.
My liner has a “notch” where the front binding screw goes. I actually run the front binding post about half-way between the left and right side of the hole. I also run a short “liner” spring…wouldn’t this be considered cutback?
To get a shader as a cutback would you just…

less than 11 volts
I can usually get a machine running solid at 3-4 volts w/ Pulse power supply. Most artists like the 6 volt range, so thats where I try to build. But I have found that the less volts used the cooler the machine runs – so I try to tune in the 3-4 volts range. I hear some guys say they run around 8-9 volts.
