Blood Borne Pathogens, cross contamination, sterilisation, when i set up to ink some one i need to think of my and the persons health at the same time. if i have touched more than 2 surfaces even if they were pre sterile i will rewind .
dos anyone get what i am saying here!!….

Go easy mate… He said he didn’t wanna use it for a perfectly logical reason so he does know what he’s doing there… As for the 2 surfaces thing.. U should be rewinding after u touch any new surface… Even if it’s presterilzed… We are here to ask and give advice so go easy…

Funny I actually ran into the exact same problem last week… Found out what my problem was though… I invested in a cheap ass foot switch from eBay, thus being said, poorly made… I ended up opening/unscrewing the foot switch jack and found that one of the solder points had deteriorated to the point where the main power supply cable fell off… So I resoldered that and all other solder points in all the jacks I have and it runs extremely well now… Might not be the same problem as you but it wouldn’t hurt to check if the solder points are crappy…

The way I personally grip the tube is just below the hand grip… I forget the name of the opening where u can see the needle in the tube (have the flu atm so I’m not all with it lol) but between that and grip… I have the grip positioned in the web of my hand between the index and the thumb… I tend to get uncontrollable shakes if I hold the grip further up than I normally would coz of the weight of my machines but this is what works for me… But… Only you can find the optimal positioning for when u tattoo… Just play with ur grip while practicing on fake or pig skin to find what’s best for you…

look at the fucking “views” on this thread…

and then go look at the ammount of views on some dumbshit in Party and bullshit..

WOW thats all I can say..

Seriously dude, take it easy…. Some people are always gonna ask some dumb questions and they still wanna know any possibilities… Keep the posts friendly coz not everyone here is a pro and this site is made for people to share and give tips to people who are gonna tattoo without training anyway, if they are gonna do it, might as well do it safe with a bit of knowledge about what they are doing

First of all, get all of the designs and sketches into a portfolio. You will need to present this to an artist if you are going to ask for an apprenticeship… It’s also a good idea to get to know the artist a bit before you go asking… Get some Tats done by them and develop a professional relationship while lightly hinting how much you are into art and tattooing… Don’t put home job tattoos into your portfolio as most artists will refuse to apprentice someone who is trying to teach themselves, they don’t wanna waste their time teaching you good techniques when you already have bad habits (not saying you do have bad habits)… Be prepared to put in hard labour before you even start tattooing to pay for your dues. Remember it is a long and hard process so stick to it no matter how tough it gets… Also I am highly against any artist making you pay $$$$ for an apprenticeship since most (not all of them) who ask this only really want your money and hardly even teach you anything, they just want slave labour most of the time… Good luck in your searching and stick to it… Oh and be prepared for the artist to ask you to design something there and then… It’s to make sure you haven’t ripped off any designs from other people and the Internet… Once again good luck!

I recently picked up a big flash book for ideas/ bathroom reading lol. Its called “Tattoo Sourcebook”, its black with a green and red dragon on the cover and a red spline. Its a good book of various flash along with their supposed meanings. Its 515 pages and only cost under $20 at Barnes & Noble. Might be what your after.

It really is a great book hey? Got alot of inspiration from the flash designs there… Correct me if I’m wrong but I think it says there are about 3000 images in the book… Definitely worth the cash… Btw I have edition three and it’s a bit pricier here in aus.. About $50AUD

Most inks that come with kits need to be put straight in the bin

I don’t mean to be rude but that’s a very unprofessional answer… I think he’s got a good point, especially if he is going to use them on himself at the very least… But no I don’t believe they can be sterilized after cracking open the bottle… Once it is open it can become contaminated very easily so watch your sterilization techniques… Best to buy ink off reputable companies but most of them only sell to professional artists… I’ll admid I buy crappy ink to use on myself but only if it’s sterile… Off a reputable company but it’s cheaper than quality inks, so use only good quality (sterile) inks on other people and be careful not to contaminate the bottle otherwise it will need to go straight in the bin

Not to be a dick but this post could take forever as there are many differences. I would suggest you do some research on here and google, other websites and gather some information.

Just wanted to say there are a whole lot of newbs that come here (including me ;) ) that want to find all the info they can in one place.

      I think it’s a very justifiable question. :)

I agree… I only really want to know the major differences… Like weight, vibrations through the hand and if it affects the tattooing techniques..

I’m new (like super new) to the world of ink…so yeah, if you guys could help me out with tips on how to develop my style that would be awesome…

The best way to help find and develop your style is a sh*t load of practice… I’ve been practicing for about 8 months and still haven’t got it down pat… Getting there tho
