I agree about the style. I like it too. Only thing I can recommend on this piece would be to if you hit the colors again try blending the dark blues back into the light blue, or if its meant to be coloring book style then just sharpen up the dark blue to represent the block shading style.

Have you tried tattooing on pig skin first? Give you a better feel for color packing and a chance to experiment with different needle configuration’s. Consider relining the piece too. Nice and a decent size too. I’m a fan of free hand work, so good job there! Was there a reason you didnt use different shades of green for the fine to show depth or a perception of roundness to the vine? The more shading you add to the petals and vines it will look krazy kewl and realistic.

Canvas…I actually tested out that Soft Touch frame with some good gear, nice and light. Infact its a part of my backup machines that I trust now, love the low weight on it. …..also to add on the grommets topic. I use mechanic paper towel (kind) for my needle bar. I used to use the regular white paper towels, I dont rip when I use the blue mechanic paper towels. Nice work amigo, like your color choices. My only suggestion aside from what you suggested would prolly be to bold out the lines a tad bit more. That will intensify the colors you do have currently. Other than that nice work.

On the right track man, looking good. What kind of machines you running? Also I notice your ink cap holder. You don’t have it covered? Are you working with that same ink cap holder without any barriers for every client?

What brand you using for your black and colored inks? Keep up the good work, you can see improvement as your progress amigo.

Once you get a nicely tuned machine you will see and feel the difference. And you will notice how much quicker your work will become without even trying. No need to double tap your lines….can get lines down in one pass…etc. Have fun!

Another idea is to put an o-ring on your front coil right around the iron core. I have those on my machines, gives a soft hitting sound without taking away from my stroke. Plus I like quiet machines ;)
