Experiment with different coil sizes (heights), and wraps. You
may notice that less wraps will turn the magnets on and off
faster because there is less resistance to complete the circuit.
You may also notice that the more wraps contained in a coil,
the stronger the magnet will be and can increase the hardness
that the armature bar will hit. Like everything else in tattoo, it
is always a matter of preference and there is no specific way
to setup your machines. Coils are no exception to this rule of
thumb. A new school of experimentation has led one manufacturer
to utilize a longer coil in the front and a shorter coil in the
rear. The shorter coil is mounted on a riser.
