Springs are available in different gauges and different metals.
It is not necessary to match the same gauge metal on the front
spring with the rear spring. Springs come in all different shapes
as well as thickness ranges. Typically shorter length springs are
designed for a frame that has the contact binding located further
to the rear of the machine. The length and the harness of the
springs can be a prime determinant in the speed of the machine.
